Problems/Pork Contained in the HR 3962 Healthcare Bill

READ THE BILL HERE:
docs.house.gov/rules/health/111_ahcaa.pdf

I'm currently reading through the bill... it is 1990 pages right now, and sure to grow as Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi edits it to bring on the votes needed to pass it.  Needless to say, it's going to take a long time to read.  I'm hoping we can all contribute to this forum post as we come across things we think need to change in the bill, before we can support it.

I really do want to support some healthcare reform, but it needs to be the right reform.  As we all post our comments lets keep them clean and considerate.  As much as I disagree with the folks trying to push this bill, they too are (usually) doing it because they think it will help our country.  Let's remember that and give them the respect they deserve, by commenting constructively instead of destructively.

Re: Problems/Pork Contained in the HR 3962 Healthcare Bill

Okay, here's a big concern I have...

This bill will make it so that RESPONSIBLE health care provisions, such as HSAs (Health Savings Accounts) and Flexible Spending Accounts, can no longer be used to purchase over the counter medical products.

It says on page 324 that you can only use these accounts to purchase prescription drugs or insulin.  I wonder if some of the people who put this bill together are diabetic?

PROBLEM IS: HSAs and Flexible Spending Accounts are great tools which encourage people to save money and only go to the emergency room if necessary.  These are great tools!  Please don't make them defunct congress!
